Scott - Editor Resistance Radio

First, I would like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has helped this little publication grow. Right now the Substack has over 2000 followers and 250+ subscribers and 38 articles. The Bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/blueteamradio.bsky.social) has over 6300 followers with over 460 posts. I am humbled that so many people find what I write informing and entertaining enough to follow me.

As you may know if you’ve read my earlier articles, I was forcibly retired early right before the Covid pandemic, and with little prospects in my previous expertise, I began working on switching to writing from my previous gig as an IT professional. My plan was for the money to last until I could take social security, and start getting my publishing career going writing Science Fiction. The best laid plans of mice and men: several key things broke in my house which required repair - the largest being our heating and air conditioning system, as well as plumbing work prior to winter. Even with what loans I could get, it depleted our funds, and by October 2024 I was starting to look for jobs. As I searched using LinkedIn - I found that the jobs I was applying for had hundreds of people applying for them, and the responses I got were, “Thanks, but no thanks.” Given my age, I can see why they might not want to take a chance on me.

To make a long story short, I think the best career for me now - is to make Resistance Radio my full time job. To keep Resistance Radio HQ running, we just need $2500 per month; that will keep the lights on, food in our pantry, fuel and repairs for our car, and all our bills paid. That would also allow me to do this full time increasing the quality and number of articles, instead of writing resumes. If everyone who follows me could donate $1 per month, that would be more than enough to keep it going.

Joking aside, Resistance Radio is at a critical juncture - I’m typing this from my laptop, using my phone as a hot spot because my home internet connection has been shut down due to late payment. So - if you can give and want to see Resistance Radio get even better with my undivided attention, now is the time to give.
